Anna Cooper Anna is a Physiotherapist with 15 years of hand therapy experience. Prior to joining South Coast Hand therapy in 2014 Anna was working as a hand therapist in Sydney completing the Hand Therapy Certification Exam. She is also a long term member of the Australian Hand Therapy association. Anna is an enthusiastic team member who loves a challenge and an Op shop bargain.

Brett HaigBrett is an Occupational Therapist / Accredited Hand Therapist who grew up in Kiama before graduating from Sydney university in 1989. While working in the Northern Territory, Brett developed an interest in Hand therapy, completing his Post graduate Diploma in Hand and Upper Limb Therapy in 1998. Upon returning to the Illawarra he opened South Coast Hand therapy in 2000. Brett is a

Nicole Ekman Nicole is a Physiotherapist/ Accredited Hand Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist who realised her passion for hand therapy whilst working in Sydney for many years prior to making her “sea change” and joining the team at South Coast Hand Therapy in 2006. Nicole is a keen Netballer who loves the outdoors.

Rachael Hall
Rachael grew up in Orange and spent time in the USA prior to becoming a Physiotherapist in 2015. After working hospital rotations in hand therapy in Sydney she was instantly hooked. Rachael works in hands in both the public and private sectors, joining the team at South Coast Hand Therapy in 2021. Rachael completed the Hand Therapy Certification Exam in 2021 and is an Associate Member of the AHTA. In her spare time Rachael enjoys hiking, op shopping and the adventure of life on the coast.

Jacqueline ChevisJacquie is an Occupational Therapist/ Accredited Hand Therapist who has worked in hand therapy in her native Canada and in Australia. During a trip to NZ in the 80’s a nice Australian boy convinced her to settle in Wollongong. Her work experience includes 15 years OT and hand therapy at the Wollongong Hospital and since 2009, specializing in hand therapy at South Coast Hand Therapy. Jacquie has many interests including bushwalking, going to live theatre and sharing a meal with her neighbours

Niki HaigNiki met Brett whilst studying Occupational Therapy at Sydney University and they married just before graduating in 1989. She joined the therapy team at South Coast Hand Therapy in 2006 and has since completed the Hand Therapy Certification exam and become a fully Accredited Hand Therapist. Niki also has a Masters in Special Education and is one part of the singing duo The Sassaphones.

Johanna SimpsonJohanna is our newest addition to our team, having worked as a physiotherapist for the past 8 years, including a rotation in the hand unit at Nepean Hospital. She is an Associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and is working towards becoming an Accredited Hand Therapist.

Jarrod GistJarrod has been working as an Occupational Therapist since 2014. He grew up and completed his studies on the south coast of Victoria where he has worked in multiple areas, eventually finding a passion in hands. Jarrod is an Associate Member of the AHTA, and working toward becoming an accredited Hand Therapist. Out of work, he loves surfing, gardening, and camping in his van.
